Just because I haven’t been posting doesn’t mean Jim hasn’t been working on the bus! He and his brother are fabricating the pantry shelves this very minute. He has also started on the going-to-be-long process of installing the driver’s side air conditioning. More on that next.
Anyway, the bed. Like in most buses, there is a fair amount of indoor storage space underneath it. That’s the good thing. The bad thing can be getting to it easily because the bed is HEAVY and unwieldy.
Solution! Jim installed some spring loaded hinges and now it lifts up really easily. Give it a good push down and it’s back in place. Some pics:
BEFORE: No hinges or way to lift except Armstrong method.
